Louisiana's Safe Haven Law allows a parent who wishes to anonymously give up an infant (unharmed and less that 60 days old) to leave the infant in the care of an employee of a designated emergency care facility. Facilities include any licensed Hospital, Public Health Unit, Emergency Medical Service Provider, Medical Clinic, Fire Station, Police Station, Pregnancy Crisis Center or Child Advocacy Center. The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services released this commercial to educate Louisianians about the state's Safe Haven law.
Safe Haven calls are answered by our KIDLINE counselors.
