PCAL shut down as of Dec. 31, 2018

It is with sincere regret that I must announce the dissolution of Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana as of Dec. 31, 2018. Despite our best efforts to secure sustained financial support for this important work, the necessary funding ultimately remained outside of our reach, and the Board of Directors made the very difficult decision to end chapter operations.

This by no means reflects a diminished need for comprehensive and integrated services to prevent child abuse and neglect. We are working to find ways to continue these crucial efforts through other local organizations committed to nurturing children and families across the state. We also encourage every member of the community to find their own way to play a positive role in a child’s life, whether it’s through mentoring or contacting elected officials and encouraging them to support policies and programs that promote healthy child development.

Finally, the Board of Directors wishes to recognize the enduring dedication of our incredible staff. For more than three decades, they have worked tirelessly to ensure the physical, mental and emotional well-being of children and parents throughout Louisiana, and for that we are eternally grateful.

Sincerely,

Kris Cangelosi

Board President and Chair
