The key federal legislation addressing child abuse and neglect, the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA), was enacted in 1974, only 44 years ago. Over those four decades, more research has been done and knowledge gained on how to prevent child abuse and neglect.

As relevant news articles, study results and other research become available, Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana is happy to share them here as a clearinghouse for professionals, media and anyone interested in strengthening families and protecting children.
